What is GDPR?

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new set of laws came to effect from May 25, 2018 aimed at enhancing the protection of EU citizens’ personal data and increasing the obligations of organizations to deal with that data in transparent and secure ways. GDPR applies not only to EU-based businesses, but also to any business that controls or processes data of EU citizens anywhere in the world.

Whom does it impact?

The GDPR requirement apply to every organization – whether private business or public entities, including government agencies, companies, and non-governmental organizations that collects, stores or shares personal data of EU residents. Any breach of the General Data Protection Regulation or failure to meet GDPR compliance could lead to severe fines. It applies to the processing of personal data by controllers (companies) and processors (entities that processes the data for the companies) in the EU, whether or not the processing itself takes place in the EU.

We believe our practices regarding privacy are strong and GDPR aligns with this vision to protecting customer data. We are constantly enhancing the security of our systems by our dedicated Compliance Team to ensure that we collect and process data in compliance with GDPR. QiK Circle has designated a Data Protection Office (DPO) who will be responsible for monitoring performance and providing advice on the impact of data protection efforts. Being a global hospitality solution provider, we have implemented proper technical and organizational measures to meet the GDPR requirements.
